Some of you know that I’ve been on a cross country adventure for the past 6 weeks and am just returning home here in Florida. I spent time out West for a while to challenge myself to climb some pretty amazing places and capture all of it’s beauty and it was worth every mile I hiked!

While I was out there, I got to spend some time with one of my most favorite families and shoot their family portraits in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado Springs… The Garden of the Gods.

Like, it’s literally most photographer’s dream to shoot sessions in such pretty places! Some of you may or may not remember the last time I got to shoot the Brewer Family, it was the 4 of them in Oahu … like seriously, they’ve lived in the most beautiful places!! and this time, we added 2 of Heather’s brothers as they live there too. Hence the title being the Brewers and the Higgins 😉

Before I share their pictures though, I just wanted to talk about this Family. These amazing humans are the true definition of the meaning of Family and what it should be. They are a true example for what could be a better tomorrow if more people were like them. Their adorable children are blessed with growing up only knowing truly what a family should be. Love, acceptance, encouragement, tolerance, super fun, disciplined, always thinking of others before themselves, the ones that would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what and would literally give their shirt off their back to those in need, your biggest cheerleaders and I could go on and on. Like literally, every time I visit, I see all of this and more when I witness how they are with their family and the people they meet and I’m truly blessed to be included in their circle and feel like I’m truly a part of their family as well. I know I’m missing some good descriptive words that say who they are but, I think you get the point. Simply put, amazing humans!!!

Anyways, for this year’s session, they naturally wanted to capture their family pictures in a location that was an obvious statement of where they live now that they’re back on the main land and Garden of the Gods is right down the road from them.

Mother Nature did decide to get cold the day of their session but, I think Heather managed to pull off the non frozen look! haha Of course, we did full family, pics of Josh and Heather with their babies, pics of said babies and sibling pics of Heather with her brothers, Colby and Ethan. I must say, I’m loving how fun and silly they were. We got those perfect posed pics and the fun candids and now, it’s time to scroll through and enjoy some of their favorite images they chose from their session <3
